(DISAPPROVAL) Reason
The proposed decking material, Trex Enhance Saddle, has a Class C flame-spread rating and does not meet the ignition-resistant construction requirements for WUI Decks Class 2. An approved ignition-resistant or noncombustible decking product must be used. See Below
K109.2.7 Decking
Unenclosed decks must use one of the following: Class A–rated material, or
Composite decking with a minimum Class B rating (exception to Item 1), or
Ignition-resistant building materials per Section K106.2.1. Wood is not permitted for the decking surface but may be used for structural components and railings. Heavy timber or dimensional log posts are allowed for covered decks and patios.
